Museum installation
April 17 – August 8, 2009
"Three Part Harmony," a trio of installations, will be on display at the Wiregrass Museum of Art from April 17 through August 8, 2009.
The Wiregrass Museum is located in Dothan, Alabama, and is housed in a historic building which used to house the city’s power plant. It is a gem and mixes a contemporary flair with the architectural charm of the building. It’s 30 foot ceilings lent themselves to my hanging installations – one of woven paper sculptures, the other of suspended tubes. My "stationary" paper sculptures are on exhibit in glass cabinets.
The staff at the museum were awesome, with particular thanks to Alison Beeson, who invited me to show and curated the exhibit with an expert hand. I am honored to be among the many excellent artists on display at the museum, and delighted that this particularly lovely spot houses my first museum show.
